Spanish
Courses
The IML offers Spanish language courses for international exchange students at A1, A2, B1, and B2-C1 levels.
FACILITIES
Spanish courses are taught in a variety of locations on the Villanueva de Gállego Campus, although preference is given to holding them next to the ILM, in the Student Hub. This building, which also houses the Academic Registry, the Library, and the International Office, has classrooms and common leisure and rest areas.
LIBRARY
The USJ library is located on the second floor of the Student Hub, just a few yards from the ILM. In addition to being able to find books to improve their Spanish, students will also be able to enjoy a variety of activities taking place at the library over the course of the academic year relating to literature, comics, and board games.
DINING HALLS AND CAFÉS
San Jorge University has three cafés as well as a food truck outside the Student Hub. Students can choose between fixed menus (which can be adapted for allergies, intolerances, and special diets), sandwiches, focaccia, and fresh pasta. They also offer meals to go.
MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
Medical assistance in Spain is guaranteed for European students with a European Health Insurance Card. Students from outside the European Union must purchase a private insurance policy valid for the duration of their stay in Spain.
ACCOMMODATIONS AND TRANSPORT
The International Office advises students on accommodation options in the area ranging from centrally located studios, apartments, individual rooms, residence halls, and other options that adapt to our students’ needs. In addition to the public city bus service, San Jorge University offers a private bus service with special rates for exchange students to get to the Villanueva Campus from Zaragoza.
CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
San Jorge University’s USJ Culture shares information about the cultural projects happening at our various centers with its own activities (workshops, talks, art exhibits, social events, guided tours, and more) related to music, theater, cinema, and literature.
SPORTS
The Sports Service offers students the opportunity to enjoy our facilities such as soccer fields, tennis, padel, and volleyball courts, indoor and outdoor pools, gym, guided classes, fieldhouse, and pelota court and participate in a variety of sports competitions and events including internal tournaments, Aragón and Spanish university championships, orienteering races, aquathlon, and the San Silvestre 5k, laser tag, hiking, three-point contest, go-kart races, etc.
PERSONALIZED SERVICE
Our students are continuously supported throughout their stay through a variety of services based on their needs. SAENE is the service responsible for offering advising and support for students with special needs. The Guidance Counselling Service (SOAP) offers the guidance necessary to overcome personal, emotional, and academic hardships. Finally, thanks to the University Tutor Action Plan (PAT), all USJ international students have access to a personal tutor who is always available to provide assistance and support on personal, professional, and academic matters.
All students, except total beginners, must take a level test before enrolling to ensure they are put in the right group. The test is conducted in September for first semester courses.
